Phi Epsilon Kappa has been a national leader in the publication of professional works. The Black and Gold Bulletin is the official newsletter of the Fraternity. This newsletter allows for the sharing of chapter related information as well as announcements and annual reports of the workings of the fraternity. The Physical Educator, the fraternity's contribution to the various fields of study relating to the make-up of the membership, was first published in 1940. This 56 page journal is published four times per year and is distributed to members as part of their annual dues. It is also available on a subscription basis to non-members and libraries. What Happens to Former Athletes? was published in 1992. This monograph includes such topics as, "How long will we live?, Athletics and life expectancy; What causes the deaths of former athletes?; Do athletes inherit sports ability, health, or fitness?" The History of Phi Epsilon Kappa, 1917 to 1988 is available to members and non-members alike. The author, P. Nicholas Kellum, traces the establishment of chapters as well as a number of events important to growth and development of the fraternity.Phi Epsilon Kappa has a continuing commitment to publish materials which are consistent with the objectives and purposes of the Fraternity.
